DC, SF, LA Actions Defending Lebanon and Palestine

Bush is the Terrorist! Resistance is a Right!

Militant actions defending resistance and denouncing U.S.-Israeli terrorism against the people of Lebanon and Palestine took place August 12 in Washington, DC, San Francisco and Los Angeles. With large numbers of youth to the fore, protesters rallied and marched, chanting: “Who is the Terrorist, Bush is the Terrorist!” “Occupied People Have the Right to Resist! Israel is the Terrorist!”  Banners and signs, in Arabic and English targeted occupation as a crime, in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine.

As one, people rejected the effort to isolate and blame the resistance and instead targeted the U.S. and Israel for war crimes. “Gaza, Gaza, Don’t You Cry, Palestine Will Never Die! Beirut, Beirut, Don’t You Cry, Lebanon Will Never Die.” Palestinian and Lebanese flags were proudly flown throughout the march.

In DC more than fifty buses came in from New York City and many others from Florida, Virginia, New Jersey, Michigan, Illinois, and elsewhere. Large numbers of Arabs and Muslims marched alongside many African Americans and Americans of all backgrounds.  With great spirit protesters opposed U.S. terrorism and backing of Israel. Speaker after speaker, representing many organizations, expressed their determination to step up the struggle to defend the rights of the Lebanese and Palestinians and all those fighting for rights. Throughout the crowd, saluting the Palestinians and Lebanese and those fighting everywhere, the chant rang out, “Stand Up and Fight, Resistance is Your Right!”
